The Montana Department of Commerce’s Census and Economic Information Center (CEIC) and Energy Promotion and Development Division (EPDD) have developed the Montana Energy Statistics webpage to provide the most current information available on the energy economy in Montana. Not only does the economic health of Montana depend on continued access to affordable and reliable sources of energy but one of Montana’s most promising economic opportunities lies in the continued responsible development of the state’s vast energy resources.
Montana Department of Environmental Quality Data
The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) maintains a database of information regarding Montana energy production and consumption. This data is available on the Energize Montana site and is provided in Microsoft Excel format with one workbook for each energy source. The following charts were created utilizing the DEQ data.

The United States Energy Information Administration (EIA) collects, analyzes, and dissemniates independent and impartial energy information to promote sound policymaking, efficient markets, and public understanding of energy and its interaction with the economy and the environment.
